Abstract

This paper examines the role of musicological discourse in the valorization of Romanian cultural identity through an interdisciplinary perspective that brings together musicology, aesthetics, cultural studies, and contemporary reflections on heritage preservation. Particular attention is given to the intellectual legacy of the Romanian musicologists Ștefan Angi and Pavel Pușcaș, whose contributions have significantly enriched the understanding of music as a complex cultural phenomenon. Through their aesthetic, philosophical, and interdisciplinary approaches, both scholars emphasized the importance of connecting musical analysis with broader humanistic and scientific perspectives. The study also addresses current challenges related to cultural heritage, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, highlighting the continuing relevance of musicological research in preserving Romanian cultural identity within a European and global context.
