THE MUSICAL DIMENSION IN THE FILMS OF DIRECTOR ION POPESCU GOPO

Abstract

The creation of the filmmaker Ion Popescu Gopo (May 1, 1923 - November 29, 1989), from whose birth one hundred years have passed, was in the vanguard of Romanian cinema, containing films both animated and with actors, fantasy films, films stories, musical films. He also created original films, being not only the author of the script and director, but also an actor and composer in some of his films. Gopo paid special attention to music, using in the films created by the various functions of this significant component for an audiovisual work. The present study aims to delve into this fascinating topic of Romanian cinema.
