MUSIC WITHOUT FRONTIERS

Abstract

National identity is an important characteristic that ensures the evolution of mankind and the consolidation of cultural values. Each people has a set of convictions, beliefs, meanings, which reflect previous lived experiences and which determine the outline of their own spatio-temporal landmarks. Music, and all the syncretic arts that contain it, generates numerous cultural values with a strong emotional impact on the audience. It can immediately paint a cultural picture of a nation and is easy to access and analyze from a multicultural and intercultural perspective. This paper wants to present some possibilities to promote elements of Romanian culture outside the country and to experience various intercultural contexts in the educational environment.
