The evolution of European and Romanian choral music in the modern period

Abstract

The modern period is framed between the two world wars, being the one that will mark the perfection of the compositional technique as well as a deepening of the Romanian national specificity. Composers from this period lay the scientific foundations of musical folklore research and its collection, having a decisive role in the evolution of musical creation that used this source in religious processing. From the perspective of approaching musical genres, a preference of composers for miniature choral works can be noted.
