ILLUMINIST CLUES IN ROMANIAN MUSICAL CULTURE FROM THE PERIOD OF THE ARDELENE SCHOOL

Abstract

Enlightenment or luminism is a current of thought, with multiple consequences in the European space - including in the artistic plane - which tends to emancipate man from the rigid position in which traditional philosophy had placed him, thus liberating him, and making him the object of his own activity; through work and culture, man becoming perfectible, like the society he builds.Predominant current in the era of the beginnings of modern thought, it was reflected from early on in the Romanian artistic culture. Thanks to their texts, the scholars of the Ardelene School have the merit of having cultivated and spread among the people an advanced knowledge of the art of music - an important cultural phenomenon. Their successors, representing an era of vertiginous social and spiritual ascent, will resume the Enlightenment ideas, integrating them into the currents of the era and adapting them to the phenomena of Romanian culture. The writings of some Eliade Rădulescu, Cezar Boliac, Nicolae Filimon et al. they will often adopt Enlightenment thinking as direct reflections on musical art
