The Romanians currently living in Hungary have a particular characteristic, namely that their history unfolded within the Hungarian state. From my experience as a teacher of Romanian language and literature in Micherechi, I notice that the Romanians here are bilingual. The community of Micherechi alternately uses two languages, Romanian and Hungarian, which they use simultaneously in the family, in the community, at work. What is kept with pleasure by the younger generation are some Romanian traditions that they saw from their ancestors in their homes, such as caroling, which was known as "corindatu, umblatu a cucuțare". Nowadays, religious cults and educational institutions take care very carefully of children and young people who want to carry on the tradition and meet periodically before Christmas to rehearse the carols that they will sing at the homes of people of faith.
